What Do Naples and Napoli Have in Common?

Sunshine, palm trees, stunning waterfront views, incredible seafood, and unforgettable sunsets.

Both Naples, Florida and Napoli, Italy are vibrant coastal destinations where life revolves around the water, good food, and enjoying the outdoors. While Southwest Florida offers warm winters and beautiful beaches, Southern Italy brings pleasant summer evenings, historic towns, and breathtaking Mediterranean scenery.

Welcome to our Naples to Napoli journey – where we share our experiences living like locals in both places we proudly call home.

Why Naples and Napoli?

Because our lives are connected to both.

We divide our time between Southwest Florida and Southern Italy, and over the years, we have fallen in love with the unique lifestyle each destination offers. From relaxing beach days in Naples, Florida to exploring charming hilltop villages in Calabria, Italy, we enjoy discovering the culture, food, history, and hidden gems that make each place special.

Our Italian journey began in 2002 during a family Christmas trip to Tuscany. We rented a villa, explored small towns throughout the region, and instantly fell in love with Italy.

During that trip, my mom suggested we look into buying a vacation home in Italy one day.

Sadly, in 2003, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away in 2004 at just 65 years old. That experience changed our perspective on life. My husband and I realized we did not want to wait until retirement to pursue the experiences and dreams that mattered most to us.

Mom wanted a home in Italy, so we decided to make it happen.

After extensive research, we purchased a property in the beautiful village of San Nicola Arcella in the northern part of Calabria. That decision began our Southern Italy adventure and opened the door to years of unforgettable experiences.

Then in 2010, during another family Christmas trip, we visited Naples, Florida. At the time, the housing market created an opportunity we simply could not ignore – even though retirement was still far away. We quickly fell in love with the Naples area, its outdoor lifestyle, beautiful beaches, and welcoming atmosphere.

And just like that, our Florida adventure began too.
